BoP Technical Manager

Structural balance of plant | Taiwan | Foundations, structures and long-term integrity

About the Role

Protect the long-term integrity of offshore wind structures. Reporting to the O&M Manager, you will define and implement the asset integrity and maintenance strategies for structural balance of plant assets, including WTG towers, transition pieces, primary and secondary support structures, foundations and subsea or submerged items. You will combine inspection planning, contractor oversight and technical judgement to manage defects, operational risks and maintenance delivery from handover into operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement structural BoP asset integrity and O&M strategies, maintenance procedures and periodic inspection plans.
  • Plan and manage inspection, maintenance and repair activities, supervising specialist contractors and coordinating onshore and offshore execution.
  • Manage structural defects, damage, construction snagging and warranty cases, supporting timely punch-list close-out.
  • Assess operational risks and failure modes, define mitigation measures and maintain clear technical records for long-term asset monitoring.
  • Review contractor proposals from technical and business-case perspectives and recommend design or maintenance improvements.
  • Ensure activities meet applicable HSE, statutory and project requirements, with appropriate site controls and calibrated tools.
  • Develop technical-team training plans, monitor KPIs and manage monthly and annual budget delivery.
  • Provide technical reporting and support operational reviews, emergency response and cross-package interfaces.

About You

  • A degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • GWO certification and the ability to work offshore, together with an HV  qualification.
  • Extensive O&M experience in offshore wind, oil and gas or electrical transmission.
  • Strong asset integrity experience focused on structural BoP, offshore wind substructures, foundations and subsea assets.
  • In-depth knowledge of structural design principles, relevant standards, operational failure modes and mitigation measures.
  • Experience with electrical safety rules and asset information systems, including inspection records and long-term monitoring.
  • Strong technical communication, contractor management and independent delivery skills, with an understanding of wider wind farm and commercial interfaces.

Why Join?

  • Shape the integrity and inspection approach for critical offshore wind structures.
  • Connect engineering assessment with practical maintenance, repair and risk management.
  • Contribute to long-term asset reliability across construction handover and operations.

Desirable Experience

  • Offshore EPC or operational start-up experience covering at least two offshore wind projects.
  • Wind Turbine Safety Rules training and certification relevant to the project’s turbine technology.
  • HV SAP qualification
  • Reliability-centred maintenance, failure mode analysis and ISO 31000 or ISO 55000 experience.
  • Broad understanding of wind farm assets, their maintenance needs and operational interdependencies.

Language Skills

Fluent English is required, with CEFR Level C1 as a minimum.
