Summary:

Synera Renewable Energy (SRE) is a leading offshore wind developer with a portfolio of projects across Taiwan and Asia. We are seeking an experienced Cable Package Manager to take ownership of the export and inter-array cable package, leading its delivery from development and procurement through engineering, manufacturing, transport, installation, testing, commissioning and handover.

 

You will lead a multidisciplinary team covering cable supply, crossings, transport and installation (T&I), engineering, site supervision and commercial support, with accountability for safety, quality, budget, schedule and package interfaces. Working closely with project leadership, you will drive key decisions, manage major contracts and ensure suppliers and contractors deliver against project commitments.

 

The initial focus will be on defining the package scope and delivery strategy, progressing engineering and permitting, and securing supply and installation contracts. As the project advances into execution, you will lead integrated delivery across manufacturing and offshore installation, embedding safety by design and maintaining rigorous control of risks, interfaces and contractor performance.

Scope Description:

 

As a key member of the Synera Renewable Energy team, your role will encompass the following:

  • Lead the export and inter-array cable package throughout development, procurement, engineering, manufacturing, transport, installation, testing, commissioning and handover.
  • Lead the Cable Supply, T&I and supporting teams, ensuring clear responsibilities and coordinated delivery across supply and installation scopes.
  • Define the package scope, contracting strategy, technical requirements and execution plan, incorporating survey findings, route engineering, permitting and installation constraints.
  • Lead tender evaluations, contractor selection and contract negotiations in collaboration with procurement, commercial and legal functions.
  • Manage major supply and installation contracts, including contractor performance, variations, claims, warranties and contractual obligations.
  • Manage package budgets, schedules and risks, providing clear progress reports, forecasts and recommendations to project leadership.
  • Manage interfaces with offshore and onshore substations, WTGs, foundations and other marine works, ensuring clear scope boundaries and coordinated schedules.
  • Oversee manufacturing and installation readiness, aligning cable delivery, load-out, vessel availability, permits and offshore campaign requirements.
  • Oversee cable installation, burial and protection, jointing, CPS, termination and testing, and crossings ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Drive safety by design and promote a strong HSE culture across manufacturing, handling and offshore execution.
  • Oversee quality assurance, inspections and testing, ensuring technical issues, non-conformities and defects are resolved.
  • Lead package completion and handover, ensuring documentation, spares, training, outstanding actions and warranty arrangements are in place.

 

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, marine or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least ten years of relevant experience in submarine cable or comparable offshore infrastructure projects, with a proven track record in package management or senior project leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering export and/or inter-array cable systems across supply and offshore installation scopes.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate cable suppliers, installation contractors and technical specialists.
  • Strong understanding of submarine cable engineering, manufacturing, marine logistics, installation, burial and protection, termination and testing.
  • Proven experience developing contracting strategies, leading tender evaluations and negotiating major supply and offshore installation contracts.
  • Strong contract management and commercial judgement, including experience managing variations, claims, contractor performance and contractual obligations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, risks and interfaces within complex, multi-contract projects.
  • Practical experience planning and overseeing offshore cable campaigns, including vessel readiness, weather constraints and coordination with other marine activities.
  • A strong commitment to HSE, with experience embedding safety by design and managing marine and electrical risks.
  • Familiarity with applicable standards, certification and permitting requirements for submarine cable projects; experience in Taiwan would be an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues and drive timely decisions.
  • Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken; Mandarin proficiency would be an advantage.
  • Willingness to be based in Taipei and travel to manufacturing facilities, ports and project sites as required.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification would be an advantage.
