Summary:
Synera Renewable Energy (SRE) is a leading offshore wind developer with a portfolio of projects across Taiwan and Asia. We are seeking an experienced Subsea Cables Transport and Installation (T&I) Lead to lead the integrated planning and execution of export and inter-array cable transport and installation.
You will manage T&I Managers responsible for the export cable (EXP) and inter-array cable (IAC) scopes respectively, with accountability for safety, quality, budget, schedule and contractor performance across cable T&I activities.
Working closely with the Subsea Cable Package Manager and Cable Supply Manager, you will align cable delivery, vessel readiness and offshore installation campaigns. The role covers installation engineering, marine logistics, load-out, cable laying, burial and protection, pull-in, jointing, termination and testing through to completion and handover.
Scope Description:
As a key member of the Synera Renewable Energy team, your role will encompass the following:
- Lead the combined EXP and IAC T&I scopes from strategy and procurement through transport, installation engineering, offshore execution and handover.
- Manage the EXP and IAC T&I Managers, setting clear responsibilities, priorities and consistent delivery standards.
- Develop the integrated T&I execution strategy, budget and schedule, incorporating vessel requirements, weather constraints, seabed conditions and project milestones.
- Lead T&I tender evaluations and support contractor selection and contract negotiations with the Package Manager, procurement, commercial and legal teams.
- Oversee T&I contract delivery, contractor performance, variations and claims, escalating key risks and decisions to the Package Manager.
- Oversee transport and installation engineering and methods, ensuring survey findings, cable characteristics, burial requirements and seabed risks are incorporated.
- Coordinate with the Cable Supply Manager to align manufacturing, storage, load-out and delivery with installation campaign requirements.
- Manage interfaces with substations, WTGs, foundations, ports and other marine contractors, ensuring coordinated access and offshore activities.
- Drive safety by design and oversee marine assurance, vessel mobilisation and offshore readiness, including permits, procedures, resources and emergency arrangements.
- Oversee cable installation, burial and protection, pull-in, jointing, termination and testing through the EXP and IAC T&I Managers.
- Monitor costs, progress, risks and quality across both scopes, driving corrective actions and resolution of non-conformities and defects.
- Lead T&I completion and handover, ensuring acceptance criteria, as-built records, burial and protection evidence, and outstanding actions are addressed.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marine, mechanical, civil, electrical or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Substantial experience delivering offshore cable installation projects, with a proven track record in T&I management or senior offshore construction leadership.
- Demonstrated experience managing both export and inter-array cable installation scopes.
- Proven ability to lead managers and multidisciplinary teams, coordinating multiple contractors and offshore campaigns.
- Strong practical knowledge of cable installation engineering, vessel capabilities, marine logistics, cable laying, burial and protection, pull-in, jointing, termination and testing.
- Experience developing installation strategies, budgets and schedules, including vessel procurement, mobilisation and management of weather and seabed risks.
- Proven experience evaluating tenders and managing major offshore installation contracts, including variations, claims and contractor performance.
- Strong understanding of cable supply and installation interfaces, including handling limits, load-out arrangements and delivery sequencing.
- A strong commitment to HSE, with practical experience in safety by design, marine assurance and offshore operational risk management.
- Familiarity with applicable marine and cable installation standards, certification and permitting requirements; experience in Taiwan would be an advantage.
- Strong leadership, commercial judgement and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues and drive timely decisions.
- Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken; Mandarin proficiency would be an advantage.
- Willingness to be based in Taipei and travel to ports, contractor facilities and offshore project sites as required.
