Role Description 

As Commercial Manager, the potential candidate will be working within the SRE commercial team and the designated Project team. The candidate will be responsible for leading contract and commercial related tasks. The candidate shall have a high degree of commercial awareness with solid contractual knowledge. They shall possess excellent persuasion, negotiation and judgment skills. 

The position will be based permanently at SRE office in Taipei.  

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and implement the project procurement strategy, 

  • Lead and coordinate the project procurement and commercial functions, 

  • Manage project contract, procurement and localization personnel, 

  • Support preparation of, monitoring and tracking of contracts’ status, 

  • Analyse all requirements and provisions in contracts, including terms and conditions, to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations and company policies and procedures, 

  • Support contract managers with negotiating contract documents with counterparties, 

  • Ensure that contracts are approved and executed in accordance with project / company guidelines and applicable international governance regulations,  

  • Provide support and guidance for estimating and risk assessment activities 

  • Lead budgeting, cost control and insurance activities, 

  • Support the duties of project package managers and contract managers as required, 

  • Make sure NDAs are in place before confidential information is exchanged with counterparties, 

  • Lead contract management personnel for collecting and analysing data, drafting reports and compiling presentations,  

  • Other contract administration work, as required. 

 

Requirements for the Role 

We are looking for individuals with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and cultural awareness. You will need to demonstrate as a minimum: 

  

  • Educated to degree level in commercial management, engineering, quantity surveying, business or legal, with a minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience within the contract or commercial position, 

  • Excellent commercial awareness with particular experience of the FIDIC and LOGIC forms of contracts, 

  • Possesses a strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting deadlines, 

  • Good IT skills, particularly with MS Office suite, 

  • Capable of professionally managing confidential information, 

  • Comfort with presenting, building relationships and influencing others, while working effectively across different cultures and geographical locations, 

  • A positive mind-set with strong self-motivation and resilience, a flexible and proactive approach to creatively tackling problems, 

  • Possession of excellent written and oral communication skills, 

  • A strong command of English is a prerequisite for the role (although a strong command of Mandarin will be favourably considered).
