We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team of electrical engineers (HV and LV) in support of the execution of our offshore substation (OSS) package.
This role sits on the developer side and will be responsible for technical coordination, oversight, and interface management with the EPCI contractor throughout the design, procurement, fabrication, and commissioning of the offshore substation (OSS). It also includes managing interfaces with internal work packages such as the onshore substation, cables, and wind turbine generator (WTG) teams. The role ensures that technical requirements are met, risks are proactively managed, and the project remains aligned with internal and external stakeholder expectations, including lenders and grid operators.
Scope Description:
As a key member of the Synera Renewable Energy team, your role will encompass the following:
- Lead and manage a team of HV and LV engineers supporting the OSS package delivery.
- Act as the technical focal point for all electrical engineering matters related to the offshore substation, interfacing with the EPCI contractor, certification bodies, and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee and review the OSS electrical design deliverables, ensuring alignment with project requirements, codes, standards, and grid interface obligations.
- Coordinate cross-discipline interfaces within the OSS package and between other packages (turbines, cables, onshore substation, grid connection, etc.).
- Ensure alignment of the EPCI contractor’s scope with the developer’s technical and execution strategy.
- Support resolution of design issues, variation orders, non-conformities, and technical queries.
- Contribute to risk identification and mitigation planning, including design, interface, and certification risks.
- Collaborate with project managers, procurement, legal, and finance teams to support contract administration and claims evaluation.
- Monitor progress of design and engineering deliverables to ensure timely completion in line with project schedule and financial close milestones.
- Ensure the implementation of best practices, lessons learned, and continuous improvement across electrical engineering functions.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering roles, with at least 5 years in offshore wind or substation design, construction, or operation.
- Proven leadership in managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong technical knowledge of HV/MV systems, protection and control schemes, SCADA, and LV systems for offshore substations.
- Experience working within or managing contracts with EPCI contractors under large-scale infrastructure projects (FIDIC or similar).
- Familiarity with international and Taiwanese grid codes, standards, and offshore certification practices.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English (verbal and written); Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
- Based in Taiwan or willing to relocate.
