Responsibilities
- Provide advice and support to the HSE Manager and project management team on Environmental and Social Management matters.
- Support implementation of the Environmental Policy
- Develop and implement Project Environmental Management System (EMS).
- Develop and implement project Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
- Develop and implement project Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP)
- Develop and implement project Environmental Monitoring Plan.
- Develop and Implement project Energy Management Plan.
- Coordinate and collate Environmental and Social data for ESMS monitoring and reporting.
- Coordinate and collate Environmental data for EIA monitoring and reporting to lenders.
- Coordinate and collate Environmental data for Environmental performance and ESG reporting.
- Develop and implement campaigns to improve Environmental and Sustainability awareness across all projects.
- Engage with package managers, permitting team, Taiwanese authorities, lenders and other relevant stakeholders to communicate environmental requirements, identify compliance issues and act as a technical resource, and coordinate on key initiatives.
- Ensure contractors comply with regulatory obligations and permitting requirements.
- Define and implement necessary training for project personnel and contractors for managing environmental issues.
- Support with environmental incident investigations.
- Monitor development of legislative requirements and changes for project locations and analyse potential impacts on construction and provide updates to HSE Manager and project management team.
- Manage and review environmental aspects related to HSE documents such as RAMS, ERP etc.,
- Conduct regular site inspections and Environmental audits.
- Review, update and maintain Environmental Aspects and Impacts registers.
- Manage and follow up on the EIA performed by an external consultant and monitor compliance with commitments made in EIA.
- Provide support to the permitting team on a range of tasks in terms of environmental, social and permitting-related topics.
- Define and report on Environmental Targets and reporting metrics.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field AND 5+ years of experience in Offshore Wind
OR equivalent experience.
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Must speak excellent English.
- Have a master’s or bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related subject such as ecology or environmental science.
- Be familiar with the Taiwanese planning, consenting, and permitting regime (preferably in Offshore Wind).
- Have experience delivering environmental work in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams in high pressure environments.
- ISO 14001 certified (either Internal or lead auditor)
- Possess an outgoing approach and take joy in being part of a project where coordination and collaboration with other project disciplines are essential.
- Able to prepare technical documents that can be easily understood and adopted by non-specialists and others.
