Financial Controller
Role Overview Synera Renewable Energy (“SRE”) is a leading renewable energy developer in Taiwan, with a pipeline of offshore wind projects across Taiwan and other parts of Asia. SRE is a portfolio company of a fund managed by Stonepeak, a US-based infrastructure fund with regional headquarter in Hong Kong. In the role as the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for accounting, treasury, and financial planning matters for all the entities under the SRE Group. The position is based in Taipei, Taiwan. Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management
- Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including budgeting, cash management, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Implement Group financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Manage the monthly accounting close process and produce the consolidated financial results for the business unit whilst supporting corporate financial reporting requirements.
- Oversee the enforcement of monthly/quarterly close accountabilities, procedures and compliance requirements, and maintain checklists to ensure completeness.
- Oversee the recurring financial reporting, commentary and analysis including preparing necessary narrative summaries and related presentations for company and department leadership.
- Identify and execute opportunities to re-engineer and improve accounting and financial reporting processes.
Cash Flow Management
- Manage day-to-day cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for immediate operational needs while safeguarding long-term financial stability.
- Develop sophisticated cash flow forecasting models and projections, providing strategic recommendations to optimize cash utilization and mitigate financial risks.
- Implement effective strategies to manage working capital, including proactive oversight and administration of corporate revolving credit facilities.
- Lead all capital call processes and fund repatriation activities, ensuring seamless and efficient movement of capital across the platform.
Risk Management
- Assess financial risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with audit requirements and reporting standards.
- Maintains a strong internal and operational control environment in compliance with company policies.
Global Consolidation
- Manage the global consolidation process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial results for multiple entities across various jurisdictions.
- Monitor foreign exchange impact on financial statements and implement strategies to manage currency risk.
- Oversee operational implementation of new accounting standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance in partnership with the corporate controller
- Provide leadership for continuous improvement in the areas of financial accounting / across the Record to Report processes while enabling standardization / simplification, processes optimization, internal control efficiency, and internal financial reporting.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead and mentor a team of financial professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Provide coaching and development opportunities to enhance team members' skills and contribute to their career growth.
Systems and Process Improvement
- Evaluate existing financial systems and processes, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Drive the implementation of technological solutions to streamline financial operations and reporting.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting. CPA/CMA/CA mandatory.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in multi-national companies required.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage the transactional accounting activities, processes and procedures across multiple countries.
- Experience in coaching, developing and mentoring team members is a must.
- Solid operational experience in SAP or Oracle required.
- Prior ERP implementation experience required.
- Overseas working experience strongly preferred.
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills with an excellent command of verbal and written English and Chinese.
- Strong working knowledge in IFRS; knowledge of accounting standards in other Asia countries is a plus.
