HSE Engineer

Position Summary

The HSE Engineer will support the HSE Team in managing health, safety, and environmental activities across the project. This role focuses on maintaining accurate records, supporting compliance with HSE requirements, and coordinating safety initiatives. The HSE Engineer will assist with monitoring performance, managing documentation, supporting audits and inspections, and coordinating training activities.

Key Responsibilities

Record Management & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date HSE records, including audits, inspections, inductions, incidents, near misses, safety observations, emergency drills, and PPE inspections.

• Compile and analyze HSE data to produce regular reports and dashboards for the HSE team.

• Track corrective and preventive actions to ensure timely closure.

• Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders (e.g., monthly HSE reports).

Management System & Documentation:

• Maintain and update the HSE Management System (HSE MS), including the Master Document Register (MDR).

• Support updates to policies, procedures, work instructions, and templates.

• Ensure proper version control and that project teams have access to current HSE documents.

Audits, Inspections & Safety Initiatives:

• Track audit and inspection findings through to closure.

• Support safety initiatives and campaigns across project sites.

• Maintain lessons learned records and communicate trends to the HSE team.

PPE & Equipment Management:

• Maintain PPE issuance and inspection records.

• Support procurement, distribution, and logistics for PPE.

• Track equipment certification and calibration records where required.

Training & Competence:

• Maintain the HSE training matrix for project personnel.

• Coordinate training sessions, inductions, and refresher programs.

• Track attendance, certifications, and validity of training.

General Support:

• Provide administrative support, including meeting coordination, agendas, and minutes.

• Maintain filing systems (hard copy and electronic) in line with company requirements.

• Support the preparation of presentations, communications, and safety alerts.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline.

• 1–3 years’ experience in HSE support, coordination, or engineering (internship or project-based experience will be considered).

• Strong administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail.

• Familiarity with ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 management systems preferred.

• Experience in the energy industry, ideally offshore wind, with an understanding of operational and maintenance safety challenges.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with data analysis/reporting tools is an advantage.

• Strong communication and coordination skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing priorities.
