The Permit Specialist will support SRE projects to facilitate the permitting processes. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, preparing and submitting permit applications, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the permit strategy for offshore wind projects, including identifying and assessing regulatory requirements and risks.
- Liaise with the relevant government agencies, stakeholders, and other relevant parties to ensure the timely obtainment of permits.
- Ensure the preparation and submission of permit applications, supporting documentation, and other regulatory filings as required.
- Ensure that all permits are obtained on time and on budget and manage the permit application process from start to finish.
- Monitor and track regulatory developments, identifying potential issues or opportunities that may impact the development of offshore wind projects.
- Collaborate with other departments/packages within the company/project, such as technical or commercial teams, to ensure that all permitting requirements are met.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all permits and commitment for each offshore wind project and ensure compliance.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and other stakeholders on the status of the permit process and any related issues or risks.
- Represent the company at permit hearings, meetings, and other forums as necessary.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience in permitting for offshore wind or other renewable energy projects.
- Strong understanding of the regulatory environment for offshore wind projects in the region.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, government agencies, and other relevant parties.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and strategically.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
