Project Finance Director

Responsibilities

Financial Strategy and Planning

• Develop and implement the overall financial strategy including funding of financial commitments and risk management
• Oversee financial planning and analysis to optimise the project’s funding and financial position
• Drive financial decision-making processes so that decisions align with project objectives

Project Development

• Drive projects toward construction phase by managing financial aspects of the project through development phase
• Coordinate with the project team to ensure seamless progress from development through to construction and O&M

Project Financing

• Drive the process to secure project finance for an offshore wind project
• Develop and manage relationships with financing parties including banks, export credit agencies, and institutional investors
• Manage sponsor and lender advisers including financial, legal, technical and other due diligence advisors throughout the due diligence process
• Coordinate activities and ensure effective communication between the project team, advisors and financing parties

Financial Modeling

• Oversee the development and maintenance of sophisticated financial models to assess project viability, returns, and potential risks
• Conduct in-depth financial analyses, including sensitivity analyses and scenario planning

Risk Management

• Develop and implement robust risk management strategies for project development and financing
• Collaborate with teams in the project to identify, mitigate and manage financial risks

Stakeholder Engagement

• Engage with key stakeholders, including investors, board members, and regulatory authorities as required
• Collaborate with legal and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
• Provide guidance and support to team members

Reporting and Internal Approval Process

• Prepare and deliver comprehensive presentations to senior management, board members, and external stakeholders
• Effectively communicate complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner

Legal and Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements during all phases of the project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; Chartered Accountant, CPA or CFA designation preferred
• Proven experience in project finance with a focus on offshore wind farms
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of successfully leading finance teams
• Highly numerate with extensive experience in financial modeling and analysis, including risk assessment
• In-depth knowledge of finance, accounting principles, and regulatory compliance
• High attention to detail
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail, good work ethic and a team player
• Fluency in English; ability to speak Chinese is a plus
