Summary:

SRE is a leading renewable energy developer in Taiwan, with a pipeline of offshore wind projects across Taiwan and other parts of Asia such as Japan and Korea. SRE is a portfolio company of a fund managed by Stonepeak, a US-based infrastructure fund with regional headquarter in Hong Kong.

 

In the role as Project Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal support and advice to SRE's business units across the region, with priority on our projects under development phase and construction phase, advising on a wide range of internal and external legal matters of the Projects.

 

Scope Description:

As a key member of the Synera Renewable Energy team and Project team, your role will encompass the following:

 

  • Support the Project team in negotiations of Project contracts where required.
  • Support the Project team in reviewing and negotiating any amendments to existing Project contracts.
  • Review the contractual correspondence under the Project contracts as required.
  • Support the Project governance function to ensure that Project company runs in accordance with the shareholders’ agreement and delegation of authority (DOA).
  • Support the Project to establish, manage and implement of Project company policies, internal rules, and procedures where legal function is responsible.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on the renewable energy regulations and other relevant regulations (e.g. environmental) in Taiwan as well as in other potential markets.

 

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

 

  • Licensed to practice law in Taiwan or other jurisdiction.
  • 3 years+ working experience in international companies and/or renowned law firms.
  • Experience and knowledge in the offshore wind project(s) or renewable energy sector would be a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Mandarin and English.
  • Good research, presentation and communication skills.
  • This is a mid to senior level position, reporting to the Chief Legal Officer. The candidate must be able to work independently.
