SCADA Engineer

Summary:

Synera Renewable Energy (“SRE”) is a leading renewable energy developer in Taiwan, with a pipeline of offshore wind projects across Taiwan and other parts of Asia such as Japan and Korea. SRE is a portfolio company of a fund managed by Stonepeak, a US-based infrastructure fund with regional headquarter in Hong Kong.

In the role as SCADA Engineer, you will support the implementation of the communication network, SCADA systems, and associated cybersecurity measures for offshore wind projects. You will oversee the deliverables of the main SCADA contractor and ensure the signal interfacing and distribution between wind turbines, foundation monitoring system, substations (ONS and OSS), cable monitoring system and TPC (Tai-Power Company). You will also ensure the implementation of the control room for the wind farm and lead the commissioning and handover to operations.

Scope Description:

• As a key member of the Synera Renewable Energy team, your role will encompass the following:
• Support the design, implementation, and configuration of the overall SCADA system and communication interfaces
• Assist in the setup and testing of the control room and SCADA infrastructure
• Support implementation of cybersecurity standards and best practices in SCADA and IT systems
• Contribute to GUI and HMI configuration and optimization
• Assist in monitoring time, cost, and quality of the SCADA package deliverables
• Participate in design reviews, FAT/SAT, and test inspection activities
• Ensure proper interfacing and integration with other work packages
• Provide technical input and progress updates to project management
• Support the technical aspects of contracts and vendor deliverables
• Collaborate with contract managers, package managers, and suppliers to ensure delivery requirements are met
• Support commissioning and ensure a smooth handover to the operations team

Qualifications:

• To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
• Experienced SCADA engineer
• At least 3 years’ experience in implementing SCADA systems for production facilities
• Experience with Siemens WinCC configuration, implementation and user interface
• Experience with MODBUS, IED, RTU, SNMP and IEC61850
• Knowledgeable in IT network infrastructure, firewalls, UTM, VPN.
• Proficient English skills - able to communicate in both speaking and writing; fluent Chinese skills is plus.
• Competent with the full Microsoft Office package with an ability to quickly learn how to use new software tools.
• In depth knowledge of the relevant standards and regulations.
• Wind power experience is not a strict requirement but will be evaluated positive
