In the role as Senior Tax Manager, you will be responsible for all the tax-related matters for all the entities under SRE group. The role is based in Taipei, Taiwan.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic corporate tax advisory, transfer pricing guidance, group restructuring support, and tax planning initiatives. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external advisors to align tax strategies with business objectives while ensuring strict compliance with statutory regulations and internal policies.
  • Lead tax-driven projects and initiatives, proactively preparing the Group for anticipated regulatory developments and compliance enhancements. Monitor changes in global/local tax regulations, assess their potential business impact, and brief the management team accordingly.
  • Act as the liaison with external tax advisors and local tax authorities, coordinating external tax advice, managing audits, and directly handling correspondence, inquiries, and filings with local tax agencies.
  • Oversee end-to-end tax accounting and compliance for SRE and its group entities, including the preparation and review of tax provisions, tax returns, and statutory filings.
  • Assist with tax-related management reporting, support project teams with VAT and WHT recovery/refunds, and drive ad-hoc tax assignments as required.
  • Maintain the Group Tax Policy and tax risk register to ensure ongoing compliance

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related business discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant corporate tax experience, including experience working at a Big 4 accounting firm.
  • Hands-on experience managing cross-border transactions is required. Experience in the energy sector is a distinct advantage.
  • Strong technical proficiency in Taiwan tax and transfer pricing regulations; working knowledge of Japan and Korea tax systems, as well as FATCA, is highly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese. Professional proficiency or fluency in Japanese or Korean is a strong plus.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Well-organized, independent, mature, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines.
