Summary:

Synera Renewable Energy (SRE) is a leading offshore wind developer with a portfolio of projects across Taiwan and Asia. We are seeking a Cable Supply Engineer to support the engineering and delivery of export and inter-array cable systems, from design and procurement through manufacturing, testing, load-out and handover.

 

Working closely with the Cable Supply Manager, you will review supplier designs, monitor manufacturing quality and progress, and coordinate technical interfaces with substations, WTGs and cable installation teams. The scope includes submarine cables, associated accessories, joints and termination systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety requirements and delivery milestones.

 

Scope Description:

As a key member of the Synera Renewable Energy team, your role will encompass the following:

  • Support the Cable Supply Manager in delivering the export and inter-array cable supply scope throughout engineering, procurement, manufacturing, testing and delivery.
  • Prepare and review cable specifications, design documentation and technical studies, including cable ratings and thermal calculations.
  • Review supplier designs and ensure seabed conditions, electrical requirements and installation constraints are incorporated into cable and accessory selection.
  • Support tender preparation, technical bid evaluations and clarification of supplier proposals, providing technical input into contract negotiations.
  • Coordinate technical interfaces with substations, WTGs and installation contractors, including cable connections, joints, terminations and testing requirements.
  • Apply safety by design, identifying and addressing risks associated with cable manufacturing, handling, installation, operation and maintenance.
  • Monitor supplier engineering and manufacturing progress, identify technical and delivery risks, and track agreed actions to completion.
  • Review inspection and test plans, witness manufacturing inspections and factory acceptance tests, and follow up on non-conformities and corrective actions.
  • Support storage, preservation, load-out and delivery planning, verifying compliance with cable handling requirements.
  • Support installation, termination and commissioning activities, resolve technical queries and verify documentation, spares and outstanding actions for handover.

 

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant qualifications.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in submarine power cable engineering, manufacturing, testing or delivery.
  • Strong technical understanding of export and/or inter-array cable systems, including cable construction, electrical and thermal ratings, accessories, CPS, joints and terminations.
  • Experience reviewing cable designs, technical specifications, calculations and supplier documentation.
  • Practical experience with manufacturing quality assurance, inspections and factory acceptance testing.
  • Understanding of cable handling, storage, load-out and installation constraints and their implications for cable design and delivery.
  • Familiarity with applicable IEC standards, CIGRÉ guidance and relevant DNV requirements.
  • Experience supporting technical tender evaluations and coordinating suppliers, contractors and engineering interfaces.
  • A strong commitment to HSE and an understanding of safety by design across the cable lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical, communication and coordination skills, with the ability to resolve technical issues and follow actions through to completion.
  • Experience working for a submarine cable manufacturer or on offshore wind projects would be an advantage.
  • Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken; Mandarin proficiency would be an advantage.
  • Willingness to be based in Taipei and travel to manufacturing facilities, storage locations and project sites as required.
